Saving Moo-la at Schoo-laWelcome to Garrison Mill's school savings program, sponsored by Garrison Mill’s Partner in Education, Washington Mutual. Each child should have received an Introduction Kit containing a program brochure and a Master Account Agreement Form. Students (with parental permission) wishing to participate in the program should fill out the form and turn it in to their teacher. Washington Mutual will then set up a savings account for the child, donating an opening deposit of 25 cents. On Thursday mornings from 7:15 a.m. – 7:50 a.m., students can bring deposits to the Media Center and volunteer parents will assist them with the deposit process. Prizes are awarded for every two deposits a student makes. In addition, volunteers award the children with little treats on alternating weeks to remind them that they are doing a great job with their consistent saving. The goal of the School Savings program is to give students the opportunity to develop healthy financial habits that can last a lifetime.
